Texas State Camping Squares was started in October 1968.  The first campout had 18 rigs in attendance.  Today we average about 20 rigs. 
            There are four member clubs in Texas State Camping Squares:  Camping Squares of East Texas, Heart of Texas Camping Squares (central Texas area), Houston Area Camping Squares (greater Houston and surrounding areas) and North Texas Camping Squares (greater Dallas/Ft Worth and surrounding areas).  Membership is also open to square and round dancers who are not members of a camping square dance club.  We are a member of the Texas State Federation of Square and Round Dancers®.
            Campouts start on Friday with a group lunch and casual dance in the evening.  Activities on Saturday include a pot luck lunch, business meeting, afternoon games and/or seminars, and a Saturday evening dance and after party.  The weekend concludes on Sunday morning with a devotional and group breakfast. 
            Our dances include square dancing, round dancing and line dancing.  The dancing is lead by member callers and cuers.
